Psychic Agency
I just read a friend’s post, ‘Quit Your Bitchin’ and Get on With It!‘ What a concept, eh? Easier said than done?
Well, yes and no.
Forgive me for a moment as I indulge myself and spout some science:
Not to worry. With discipline and repetition we can reduce the likelihood that particular lines of thought are likely to recur. That my friends is quantum theory brought to bear upon psychology. We can influence the POTENTIAL that particular lines of thought will ‘cross the threshold of the quantum potential and become materialized with the firing of neurons.’
Are we having fun yet?

I like your style Diane and sense of humour but on a serious note we both know this stuff works don’t we and I agree the real shift comes not in the knowing but in the doing. That starts with conscious awareness of what we’re thinking in any given moment, the language we use to talk to ourselves internally and outwardly with others and the focus we need to have on what we want out of life.
Then its believing its all possible, a heady cocktail of rightful thoughts, intensity of positive emotions and taking the action to unfold our dreams into physical reality. When we’re in the flow, in tune with who we are at our core, its magical and when we’re not its one hell of a hangover!
Yes, indeed Kathy. I am fascinated with the patterns that have evolved over time to predispose us to particular types of thinking (cup half empty or cup half full). We are all building upon an edifice of our own creation. The good news is, as you note, with mindfulness we catch ourselves in the act as we create the patterns. Therein lies the window of opportunity.
